Loved this spot!

Au milieu de la nature, cette maison avec piscine privée est un endroit magique. Nous avons rencontré plus d'animaux ici que dans tous les parcs nationaux ... en intimité... des capucins, de magnifiques iguanes, des oiseaux, papillons sans compter un curieux Caoti ❤️
L'appartement est parfaitement équipé, la literie parfaite, la propreté nickel. C'est vraiment NOTRE logement coup de cœur.

Das Haus ist traumhaft schön im Dschungel gelegen und bietet sehr viel Komfort und Platz. Die Ausstattung ist hervorragend. Der Pool ist klein aber dennoch erfrischend, wenn man nachmittags/abends nach Hause kommt. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt! Das Parken vor dem Haus ist sehr schwierig, aber man kann etwas weiter unten eine Ausweichmöglichkeit finden. Die Kommunikation mit der Kontaktperson war äußerst freundlich und sie war immer erreichbar.

After hours check-in was fantastic. The house was clean and as expected.

When you see those famous air bnbs in the jungles with a pool and large glass windows….yeah this is one of those. Cannot express how beautiful the location was. We had small issues but those were outside of the owners control. They made it up by helping us get our phone back (had someone drive it to San Jose!) after we forgot it at the air bnb. Would stay here again 110%. The roads are steep and an adventure but worth it.

Het was fantastisch! Een waanzinnig mooi begin van ons reis door Costa rica. In de avond en de ochtend komt de jungle tot leven, magisch! Huis had alle voorzieningen en vooral veel ruimte en heerlijk bed!

The home made our vacation an oasis of perfection. Waking in the morning to the bird sounds and occasional monkeys was exactly what we were hoping for. We had everything that we needed in the house. They even shopped for us to have a few supplies there when we arrived. The pool is so clean and loved that it is only a few steps away. We hated to leave!

Such a comfortable place!!

We can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay with all the beautiful natural surroundings with birds and wildlife, similar to being in Manuel Antonio national park! This was a huge bonus, adding to the comfort and features of the home including the pool, deck w hammock, and outdoor grill which we cooked some fresh caught fish on. The house had everything we needed. We also hiked up to the waterfall (not easy but doable) and swam in a pristine pool of water, which was fantastic on a hot day. We managed without a car, using shuttles on occasion. We did have a brief power outage, which we heard is not uncommon in CR. Finally, Julio, whom I met, was very helpful and a great host! Highly recommend Casa Macaw!

We loved our stay at Casa MaCaw. The house was just as described, clean and well appointed. The beds and couch were super comfortable. The pool was wonderful in the hot afternoon. Julio was responsive and proactive. The water board (AYA) had to shut down the water in Quepos and Manuel Antonio from 8a to 4p for maintenance on one of the days we were there. Julio was quick to communicate which allowed us notice to pick up extra bottled water on our way home from our hike. It was appreciated. To note: The driveway is steep, and the parking spot is best for a smaller car. All in all a great stay.

This place was just the best. After travelling around Costa Rica this was our 5th place and last place and we definitely ended the trip well staying here. The views are amazing, we saw more wildlife staying here than we did the rest of Costa Rica. Monkeys, toucans, parrots, iguanas all pretty much from our balcony.
Place is spotless, and everything you need to cook, and work remotely with wifi etc

This place was amazing for our family (2 adults and 2 toddlers). It is in a private gated community. The road up to the house is steep and fun to drive. Very private. Never heard the neighbors. We saw macaws and monkeys nightly. We saw toucans on our last day here. The one level home and large outdoor living space makes this place one of a kind and a total must stay!

Our host welcomed us with a basket of fresh fruit & Costa Rican coffee. The kitchen was well stocked and made our stay better! We were able to cook breakfast each day and eat by the pool side or on the deck, under a canopy of trees. The beds were firm and comfy too! A nice cleaning lady came twice during our visit and restocked some supplies and always left the home so nice and even folded towels into shapes, like swans.

Had a great stay here while on vacation and would love to return.

Excellent stay – highly recommend

The property looked exactly like the photos and was very clean. Check-in was easy since we arrived while the office was open. On our second day, a few white-faced capuchin monkeys stopped by, which was an unforgettable experience and thrilled the kids.

Our host, Julio, was very thoughtful and left a welcome gift basket with fresh fruit and Costa Rican coffee. Comfort is extremely important to me, especially beds, and these were excellent—very comfortable and great quality. The bedrooms, living area, and kitchen were all great, with excellent appliances. All amenities worked well, including the washer and dryer.

The drive up is steep, but the hosts provide a free taxi service, which was incredibly helpful since our rental car had a weak engine. This made access stress-free.

We didn’t use the pool or grill, but everything appeared well maintained.

Suggestion: Consider opaque curtains in the second bedroom instead of sheer ones for better privacy

In general the place was pretty good it has a nice location, was clean and the office people were very nice.
Not much room to park if you are driving a big car.

Fantastic place to stay! The recommendations they had for us were all great and much appreciated. We loved the local waterfall and closeness to the monkeys, and beaches!

This was a very cool and unique place that is super close to everything you could want to get to including the national park. Julio and his team was super responsive, helpful, and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay!

Loved the place. The monkeys were incredible. Literally on the back patio. Don’t get it if the sound of monkeys bothers you. There are a lot. Highly recommend.

The house is situated in a beautiful area.
Everything in the house is very clean and nice. We slepped like kings in the kingsize bed.
The terrace with the pool is very relaxing and the terrace behind is wonderful to look and listen to the birds.
The hike to the waterfalls is difficult, but then you can swim in this beautiful fresh water and you feel like in paradise.
In all... a perfect stay.

We LOVED our stay here! The surroundings were beautiful and it is in a very peaceful, private location. If you’re lucky, you’ll wake up to the sound of monkeys and macaws! Concierge was really helpful and responsive, would recommend Casa Macaw to everyone.

From the time we arrived to the time we left, this place was paradise. We had squirrel monkeys, white face monkeys, scarlet macaws, yellow throated toucans and other amazing creatures around almost daily. The house was clean and full of amenities. Parking may be a worry for some but go straight up the hill and back in the spot. We did that daily and never was concerned.

We highly highly recommended Emilio’s for breakfast. We returned there when we were leaving town because it was so good.

We used their recommended excursions for a Night Walk and ATVs. Definitely worth it! We went to Sukia Park for zip lining and it was fabulous and only 2 hrs. Other companies for 4 hrs. 2 hrs was perfect.

We truly hope to return!! Thanks for an amazing stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Macaw! It’s a cute and cozy spot with a great little pool—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. We were lucky to see some macaws during our visit, and while we didn’t catch sight of monkeys or toucans, we did hear howler monkeys from time to time, so they’re definitely around! We spent most of our daylight hours out and about, but this place felt like a peaceful retreat to come back to. We’d definitely consider returning in the future.

Excellent place for so many reasons. Home is clean and comfortable. Situated higher up on the hill in the tops of the trees. The first day there we were visited by White Faced monkeys. The trees are so close to the balcony in the back the monkeys would come within a couple of feet. The next morning we had a troop of Squirrel monkeys visit and stayed around for about 45 minutes playing in the trees. It was so fun watching them from so close. We heard Howler monkeys but did not see them.
Most of the sightings of the animals came with sun up so if you like to sleep in you might miss them. We also saw Toucans, Macaws, Coati Mundi, plenty of Iguanas and other lizards. This was also just from the back balcony.
We did not rent a car so relied on taxis to go places. Sebastian is very responsive on getting one for you. We were able to make a friend and used his number for most of our trips. This is a great area and home. Don't hesitate to use Casa Macaw as your home base.

Belle location dans un endroit paisible a la cime des arbres. Les animaux sont à proximité et rien ne vaut la visite du domaine pour aller à la rencontre des singes, toucans, heron du Mexique, iguane etc....nous avons passé un beau séjour de 5 nuits, Sebastian est réactif aux questions. Beaucoup de visites aux alentours. Je recommande

We thoroughly enjoyed our weeklong stay at Casa Macaw. Perfect accommodation for 2 couples. Convenient, safe, lots of wildlife (esp. birds and monkeys!), and cool outdoor seating area with pool & grill. Parking was tricky but we got the hang of it :) The house was comfy & clean and it was nice to have lots of fresh towels. We appreciated the fresh fruit and beautiful flowers upon arrival. The complementary mid-week cleaning was awesome and we greatly appreciated the freshening-up of the house. Hot water & A/C worked great and the location was super convenient to MA beaches. Security guards and concierge staff were friendly, proactive, responsive, and provided excellent dining options. We’d enthusiastically recommend booking the private chef, Vicky, who prepared an incredible 3-course meal for us including fresh fish we’d caught on a charter trip!

Great stay at the perfect spot for our family. The house met all our needs and the staff was exceptional in their responses for our needs. Loved being walking distance from town and all our needs. This place would be tops on our list if we ever return.

Used this casa for small team retreat. Good meeting spaces and WiFi for presentations. Natural setting helped team bonding activities. Pool area perfect for informal discussions. Catering options were limited but staff worked with us to find solutions. Productive retreat overall.

We stayed for a week and had a great time. Property has all the necessary amenities, community is great with the El Salto waterfall, and incredibly responsive hosts. The property is on a very steep hill, and we did not rent a vehicle, so be prepared to get some exercise if not renting a car. The location is great to access all of Quepos, including the Marina Pez Vela, which is about a 20 minute walk. Overall, very positive experience.

Felt like we were stating in a treehouse! Descriptions within reviews are accurate including dated furnishings, and steep driveway. We loved the villa!! Great getaway for two brothers on vacation!

Location is great to explore SJO by walking and leave the car in the provided parking lot. View was great, while there is a lot of noise from honking trains, traffic and clubs along the roads in front of the house. Would stay here again

Excelente atención, limpieza y la casa en general.

I had the pleasure of staying in Casa Macaw in Manuel Antonio Estates for nearly two months. First of all, the service and attention from the staff was beyond compare. Julio and Fabiola could not have been more attentive! I had very few actual problems to attend to, but if there was any thing that needed attention or fixing, the response was immediate and complete. Every detail, from the housekeeping to the pool maintenance, was taken care of. It was so delightful to wake up every morning to the sound of Howler Monkeys and birds at Casa Macaw, and the regular visits of troops of Capuchin (the "gangsters") and adorable Squirrel monkeys never failed to delight us! There were occasional visits by Blue Morpho butterflies, and even fireflies! Remember that you are staying in the jungle, so there are other creatures that live there too, including geckos, iguanas, frogs, and snakes, and you will encounter them!

Casa Macaw is a very simple, no frills Casa. It is neat and clean. The beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms are adequate with good showers and really hot water, and all appliances worked perfectly, including a new large-screen TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime in the main room. I had really good internet service the entire time. I didn't use the TVs in the bedrooms but I'm sure they are in good working order. There is well-functioning air conditioner units in every room. I used the oven to bake bread once a week during my stay and it worked very well. There is a fairly good blender in the kitchen to make smoothies. The set of knives in the kitchen were better than you usually find in a rental. I didn't use the automatic coffee maker except to heat water, and made my coffee in a French press coffeemaker. There is no drawer for the silverware and so a tray of knives, forks, and spoons must sit out on the countertop, which is a little odd. When I arrived there were basically zero storage bowls in the kitchen but I collected jars as I went along to store food in and used baggies for everything else.

The furniture in the living room is quite shabby and worn and needs replacing, but they are comfortable to sit on. On the pool patio, there are four lounge chairs in good condition but quite uncomfortable so I took some throw pillows out when I wanted to lounge outside. The small pool (about the size of a very large hot tub) was kept very clean and I used it nearly every single day. There is an excellent supply of large towels for use after swimming.

There is a dock to park a car on, but because Casa Macaw is on a VERY steep hill it is a challenge to park. I became quite good at backing into the dock but it usually took two or three turns to get it in there. The first month I was there I did not have a car so walked the short distance into Quepos to get supplies. I am 70 years old and in pretty good shape, but walking back up the very steep hills to the Casa in extreme heat was hard. I highly recommend having a car or using a taxi service while staying there.

In summary, I LOVED my stay at Casa Macaw, and at the end of two months I truly did not want to leave. You will not regret renting this charming Casa!

Birder's paradise! We spotted over 120 species during our stay, including quetzals and toucans. Casa's location provided incredible viewing opportunities. Staff was knowledgeable about bird behavior and best viewing times. Early mornings on the terrace were magical. Unforgettable for nature lovers.
