About Kiskadee Casa

Nestled in a true wildlife sanctuary, this contemporary 3 bedroom home offers quiet seclusion within Manuel Antonio Estates– one of the most accessible and beautiful gated communities in the area. This gem is situated just minutes away from downtown Quepos, the white sand beaches of the Manuel Antonio National Park, and the new world-class Marina Pez Vela. The quality of the building materials and the detailed workmanship of the Kiskadee Villa is exquisite. Imported Italian tiles, wooden French doors with ornate stained glass panels leading to the master bedroom, a spacious, elegant master bathroom, and the local hardwood finishes are just a few of the incredible features. Because of its location at the end of the cul-de-sac, the house enjoys complete privacy, as well as safety, with 24 hour security. The three comfortable bedrooms can easily accommodate 4 – 6 residents. Why rent two or three hotel rooms, when you can rent an entire, family-friendly house for the price of one hotel room? With a full kitchen and outdoor grill, feel free to take advantage of the local markets, including the farmers market on Saturdays, to prepare your own meals with fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables and freshly caught fish. Or, just outside the estates you will find an abundant variety of restaurants from casual, ethnic, and al fresco, to 4 & 5-star gourmet dining with beautiful ocean views.

The Kiskadee is ideal for families who love the surroundings of the lush rain forest and can’t get enough of the pure sounds of the jungle. Step outside and be entertained by visitors such as bright, colorful toucans and macaws, playful monkeys and adorable sloths. Fruit trees and flowers are abundant on the property. Green areas cover a large portion of the estates with 5 km of hiking trails with small creeks and waterfalls. Visitors can, also, frequent the Raindrop Spa, a beautifully appointed, Balinese-inspired new day spa with outdoor gardens, offering many types of therapies as well as yoga & Pilates and located right on the Estates’ property.

With various modes of transportation easily accessible, you can enjoy a multitude of exciting activities in the area including zip-lining, whale and dolphin watching, boating, para-sailing, deep-sea fishing, bird watching, eco-tourism, tennis, and golf just to name a few. Not only are there tours of the park but many other tours for which pick up from Manuel Antonio Estates can be arranged. Recommended examples are Damas Island and Rainmaker Park.

Shuttle or bus service is available to and from San Jose airport. One could rent a car at the airport and drive approximately 3.5 hours to Quepos/Manuel Antonio on good roads or fly Nature Air from San Jose to Quepos and arrange for car rental after arrival at one of the local agencies. Flights take about 25 minutes. Or choose to use local shuttle or taxi service once you arrive.

Here is a quote from Forbes Magazine about Manuel Antonio Park: “Here is a stunning combination of beaches and coral reefs, perfect for snorkeling and exploring the area’s famous tangle of mangroves. Rainforest jungles remain untouched habitats for Brown-throated Three-toed Sloths, iguanas, Central American squirrel monkeys and birds of extraordinary colors. One of Costa Rica’s smallest national parks, Manuel Antonio is nevertheless one of its most popular, with activities ranging from white-water rafting and sea kayaking to horseback riding on one of the park’s four beaches.”

From Broadwayworld.com: “Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, has had its debut, and is now becoming one of the top ’boutique’ travel destinations in the world. Forbes called Manuel Antonio National Park one of the ’12 Most Beautiful National Parks of the World’.

Costa Rica is fast becoming one of the top vacation spots for families. Manuel Antonio has much to offer including beautiful white sand beaches, calm waters, kid-friendly tours, National Park, and abundant, exotic wildlife. Kiskadee Casa is a budget-savvy, tropical rain forest oasis just minutes from all that Manuel Antonio has to offer. Enjoy your stay. Pura vida.

Frequently Asked Questions

How close is it to the beach?
There are three nearby beaches within a 10-minute driving distance in Manuel Antonio National Park and the public beaches of Manuel Antonio. Because of the geography of the area, there aren’t very many affordable homes that are on or walking distance to the beach.  All of our guests enjoy the proximity to town and to be honest it is just a short drive to the beach.

Can I hire a chef?
We can provide you with a professional chef.
Prices are the same for 2 to 10 people. After 10 people the cost is $10 per person extra. The cost of food is additional, but the chef will do the shopping and present you with receipts for reimbursement.
Dining is designed to be family style as the chef prepares most everything fresh at the villa, so we kindly ask you to choose 1-2 appetizers, 1-2 entrees, 1-2 deserts etc.  that everyone will share. Once you confirm the dates & meals you’d like to hire the chef for, I would collect a deposit and put you in contact directly with the chef so you can communicate regarding your menu choices.

Is there public transportation?
Manuel Antonio Estates is located on the edge of Quepos, walking distance to town and restaurants. From Quepos there is about a 3 mile road that runs through the rainforest on a mountain down to the beach/park. Buses run every 15 minutes (50 cents) and the bus stop is right outside the front gate. Taxis are also available 24/7 for $5-$10 per trip, plus, all tours & activities include round trip transportation from MA Estates!

Is it safe?
Yes, Manuel Antonio Estates has 24-hour Security, and is a gated community.

Is there air conditioning?
Yes. All Manuel Antonio Estates homes have air conditioners.

How do I get there from San Jose?
You can either take a 20-minute domestic flight on Sansa or Nature Air Airlines into the Quepos airport, or make the 2½-hour scenic drive along the Pacific coast. We can also provide you with private or semi-private transportation from anywhere in Costa Rica to Manuel Antonio Estates.

How do I book a domestic flight from San Jose to Quepos?
Let our Concierge take care of this for you.

How does my phone work in Costa Rica?
You can buy a local SIM card at any grocery store, which will give you a Costa Rica phone number and data to use, you can reload with more data at most stores by telling them your phone number. Or you can talk to your cell phone provider about setting up a plan before you arrive.
